Rabada bowling at 90+mph gets in ahead of Anderson. Starc is the swing bowler anyway in my side...he also launches them down at 90+mph.

Of Root's 11 Test 100s only 3 are away from home. Smith has more distribution between home/away 100s. Smith wins.

Rahane scores runs in every country

This logic suggests Voges should be in the team because he averages 70....

They also bat in a completely different position?? Smith cant bowl for (No Swearing Please), out of the whole australia team i honestly wouldn't have any of them in it. Mot an ounce of proper technique in any of them.

Who cares if Smith can't bowl? I selected Steyn, Starc and Rabada as my fast bowlers. If they can't get 20 wickets the opposition must be pretty darn good.

For the record, Stokes performs better away from home than he does at home and considering you spend 2/3 of the year away...

Oh and Stokes averages more than Smith has this year, and has taken 26 wickets at just over 21 a piece, I'd have him in the side and have him as a gun fielder and extra bowling option for the most controlled reverse swing since Simon Jones.

Is everyone aware that Kohli only averages 46 in test matches? That's behind both Pujara and Rahane in the current Indian team...

And not a single mention for Philander despite averaging 21 with the ball. Madness...

How far back are we looking? Smith and Kohli have about 1200 runs for 2016. Stokes is well below that figure.

How about a vote for Moeen Ali? He's had a huge year.

Bairstow must get the nod ahead of Quinny DeKock. As exciting as Quinton is, the sheer weight of runs means Bairstow is currently best.

It seems not long ago that people on here didn't rate Jonny Bairstow as highly as Nick Compton. Now they seem to rate hin above AB de Villiers!

Kohli , Rahane , Cook , Philander , Amla , Anderson , Ashwin , and a few others , are all very unlucky to miss out .
Just looking at my side......my two openers will have a lot to talk about between overs !

Steven Smith batting average 58
Ben Stokes batting average 35

Case closed.

Steve Smith can't bowl and no where near as good a fielder. Now that is "case closed " my confused friend. Also can u look at his average when not playing on flat tracks...  Probably about 19... The same amount of 1st class wickets he has taken.

I love the banter with you Felix but sometimes you just need to admit your not a good judge of a world Xl
