He can't grasp the word current. Hence banging on about steyn constantly.

"But he bowled one ball at 93mph this year , he must be picked"
So the morons selecting Anderson don't understand the concept?

Good to see this forum has descended into childish name calling.

Proper gone downhill lately.

Anderson played 3 test match series this year, taking 37 wickets and averaging 20.51 with the ball in 9 games. Not fit at the moment admittedly, but not exactly the worst record. Hopefully there's more left in him yet, rumours of his demise have been greatly exaggerated so far.

Agreed @Rob580 , this topic has gone south very quickly... More posts about cricket anyone?

Steyns played 3 tests all year. And is out for 6months atleast.

Anderson has played 9 and took 37 wickets at 20 and is currently fit and available for selection.

Good point about Jimmy. Thought he struggled when he came back from his last injury. Took him a few games to get his rhythm and length right. Personally wouldn't play him tomorrow.
Would give Ball a go as Woakes meant to be a doubt. It's all about opinions and I don't mind listening to other people.. Just as long as they agree with what I say... :)

And Amla
He hasn't scored a bean recently, but gets in because be averages over 50.
On that logic Gary Ballance should still make a World XI too...

Yes agree completely, Jimmy's clearly still got it but on recent evidence he doesn't have the ability to come straight back firing after an injury anymore. I'd much rather give him a longer recovery spell than strictly necessary than rush him back for a couple of test matches below his best followed by another injury.

Cheers for that.  although Edgy came up with some good stats there about Jimmy. Personally thought no Steyn or Jimmy for me.
Believe someone called Stokes swings the ball a long way...
