You're spot on there walking wicket. check this thou. right handed batsman walks out in a dvi 1 game I played in years back

right hand was the leading hand, left hand the bottom hand.. got it?  try holding the bat like that and see what I mean

so right hand is the top hand, this guy is right handed....

140 not out and won the game. At that point my team stopped taking the mick out of him..........

I'm always wary of keepers with old gear. One of the reasons I like batting first is so I can judge if I am better than the opposition keeper. Often I prefer it when they are good so I have a target to beat.

Does anyone else like to have a chat with the batsman about his bat if he hits a good shot? I don't do it to put them off, I just like to have a conversation and keep things friendly.

I'm not a fan of trousers tucked into socks. Makes me want to get them out more.

I'll always compliment a decent shot from the slip cordon and have a bit of chat when they play a rubbish shot. If a batsman is nailing everything I'll often pick up and have a waft around with his bat in the drinks break and make a point of letting him know it's now cursed

Anybody who walks to the crease wearing a masuri, I automatically assume they're decent

I played against a guy a couple weeks ago . Number 3 bat , walks to the crease ( im checking out his kit from bat pad ) , i notice he's wearing Morrant pads . My first thought was '(No Swearing Please)'! My second thought was 'hang on , I  wear Morrants too' !

I always want to come on to bowl if I see someone wearing Aero batting pads. Always makes me think they'll be lucky to hit a straight one, can't think why though...

i was playing a county juniors match (years and years ago) when the opener walked out fully head to toe in brand new gear, he then played and missed at the first 5 deliveries of the game... so i gave it the immortal 'all the gear no idea' to him..... 150 odd not out later.... I found out afterwards it was Nick Compton! 

i have never said those words again on a cricket field
