BAS Gloves - New model?
« on: November 28, 2016, 11:42:53 AM »

Was on the hunt for the BAS Players gloves (the blue/white/red ones) as used by many a pro.

And stumbled across these:

http://www.thecricketshed.com/product-p/bawbg.htm

Was wondering if:

1. Has anyone dealt with these guys previously? Not heard of this retailer.
2. Anyone used these BAS gloves? As quite like the classic branding on them

Had Robinsons gloves from them via eBay and all fine. I believe they are the same people as SQ sports

Excellent, thank you for letting me know

I am tempted and will probably grab a couple of pairs of these BAS gloves.

I use bas players gloves the blue ones and overall think bas gloves are right up there in terms of quality.

I have two new pairs of the blue ones going spare too.

Dealt with them a few times. Very friendly and the problem I had (they sent left hand gloves instead of right) was dealt with very quickly.

Out of interest, does anyone know what has happened to SQ Sports as they've been quiet for a few months and the website is down. Have they fully "rebranded" as cricketshed?

yes looks like it. Their bats looks the same as sqsports.

Was just browsing their site during lunch, and have just seen these now. They do look good. Although I have always preferred the sausage design on my gloves.

ah well, couldn't resist and took the plunge on both a pair of the white BAS gloves and the SF all white pro gloves. Thought it may be a good chance to explore the split design batting gloves.  :o

looking forward to receiving them now.  :D

Could you post up some initial thoughts when you receive them like palm thickness, general quality of construction and sizing (does one feel smaller or more snug than the other for example). Ta!

No problem mate, will do.

Just to follow up on this... both pairs of Gloves arrived today!

First impressions, both look great and feel comfortable when worn.

As previously mentioned, I have always been a sausage design glove man, so the BAS ones are spot on. Protection seems very good and the palms are supple and soft.

The SF Pro Edition are so much better than I hoped for. Almost feel like I have had these for years, as they are so comfortable and feel "broken in". They have a pittard palm, which is very comfy and feels superb. All in all, very happy with both pairs!

I ordered the normal mens size in the SF pro edition -- and the BAS are standard mens. So size wise, both pretty much feel the same. Definitely not snug but also not loose.

the SF ones feel like a thinner palm, maybe that's due to them been pittards?

@wasted_talent Can you share some pictures of both gloves please mate. I can't see them on the website.

Thanks very much.

Ok mate, I will take some when I get home in the evening.

I brought them off their website earlier this week, so they were definitely on there.

When I get a minute, will check their website too, and send you the link.

Cheers.
