Why is the UK cricket industry so competitive?
« on: December 02, 2016, 11:03:45 AM »

It's been a while since I have purchase a bat from an Aussie store. I think the links below explains clearly why.

http://www.itsjustcricket.co.uk/cricket-bats-c17/senior-cricket-bats-c18/kookaburra-ghost-pro-cricket-bat-p1654 or

http://www.cricketcentre.com.au/product/9781-kook-ghost-pro-players-1-le-ew-cricket-bat-sh
So why? Aussie stores not getting as good price than Uk stores, or are they just greedy?
over $300 difference ???

yeah sorry skip my bad, $300 I was way off  ;)
 AUS Dollars
$638.83 in UK
or $985 in AUS   http://www.kingsgrovesports.com.au/prd_116_Kookaburra-Ghost-Pro-Players-1-LE-Cricket-Bat.aspx  oh so a difference of $346.17. Wouldn't it be great to be an accountant of a store like kingsgroves to have a slice of that action

I can tell you why the industry is competitive in another view.

The pie is so small and the fact people both makers and retailers are working dam hard to get there slice.

Think the size of the country has something to do with it. So much choice in a relatively small area.

2016 ghost was. The one linked is a 2017 ghost, of which 2 grades are available I believe.

correct
so perhaps it's IJC's currency converter on thier page a bit off? When  switch the Aus dollars on it's 640, it appears to be live as it went up by $2 overnight.
