What's going on here then!
« on: December 02, 2016, 11:08:20 PM »

Thought I'd upload a sneak preview of my project I was working on tonight and will hopefully finish tomorrow. Can anyone guess what it's going to be?

It seems to be in 2 parts. The threaded bar at the top imply some sort of clamping/tightening system. Therefore, my guess is a clamping jig to handle a cleft.

@smilley792 apolgies was a busy day yesterday and had my club presentation evening last night.

Here's a little more of a teaser for you. Will probably upload a video of this in action later but for now here's a couple more photos that will hopefully give it away. The plastic box on one end is temporary, but it will be replaced by something that may or may not hold a the toe end of a bat :-)

Finally got round to sorting this out - still needs a couple of tweaks, and a proper toe end holder but for now, here it is…

Any ideas on how to embed a YouTube video?

It's a great idea, but can you reach to press the go trigger on the drill and still watch the binding run smoothly? I tend to bind from the top downwards, and it is important to be looking down over the bat handle to ensure tight control. Best of luck with it.

yes mate tried it last night - I purposely put the drill chuck on the handle end for this reason. It allows me to control the speed really well and I can stand inline with the top of the handle to start binding and move upwards as it loads the handle.

It probably looks further away than it is because of the camera angle.
