Maxwell's meltdown
« on: December 05, 2016, 02:24:46 PM »

Poor old Big Show not much is going well for him at present...apart from his $1m IPL deal...

https://au.news.yahoo.com/thewest/sport/cricket/a/33382339/i-should-bat-above-matthew-wade-glenn-maxwell/

Never a wise decision to call your state captain a bum...

http://www.cricket.com.au/news/glenn-maxwell-rob-quiney-batting-order-issue-wade-handscomb-keeper-sheffield-shield/2016-12-02

Shot down by Rob Quiney has to hurt 😂

http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/story/1070031.html

Lehmann's probably lucky to still have a job after losing 5 consecutive Tests and being whitewashed in the ODIs by South Africa...also didn't Maxwell score 140 for Yorkshire last year?

http://www.cricket.com.au/news/glenn-maxwell-fined-for-comments-australia-v-new-zealand-chappell-hadlee-series/2016-12-03

As if a paltry fine will hurt Maxwell's vast bank balance...

http://www.cricket.com.au/news/feature/steve-smith-exclusive-glenn-maxwell-fined-pat-cummins-australia-new-zealand/2016-12-03

Smith laying into Maxwell is the most ludicrous. He told Maxwell to join NSW, ever since then Maxwell has become the black sheep

Maxwell should bat above wade imo. He is meant to be a batsmen after all.

Yes he did score 140 for Yorkshire.

Plus, he's only actually played 9 Sheffield shield games in the period since his last shield ton, due to being on international duty for aus, technically that could have been 18 innings. But it's not as many as made out and could have been In said period.

So take into account he has been batting 7/8 and probably stuck with the tail in most. It's hardly a fair cop.

I saw Mitchell Johnstone stuck up for him the other day and had a go at the current aus dressing rooms mentality.

Also read some where that the aus side is "Steve smiths team" and you better get inline or face the consequences.

Maxwell may well have been stabbed in the back trying.

It all smells of homework-gate to me. Last time aus were on a poor run and they used as many scapegoats as they could throw on the fire.

homeworkgate seemed to be an excuse for anyone Clark did not like to be thrown under the bus quite right

The Aussies are all over the shop lately, I wonder whether thou, looking at it from an England point of view, if teams that win constantly mask differences of opinion and fall outs, simply because they are winning

I've read...don't know if true or not.....Warne did not like Hussey, def not Steve Waugh, and def not Gilchrist.....all that came out after as up till 2005 pretty much wiped every one off the pitch

and of course we had KP  :)

As an England follower, I would rather face an Australia side with Maddinson or Head in it rather than Maxwell.

Quite easy to cover things when a teams winning, start losing and these ego players start looking for someone to blame.

Maxwell should bat 6 , Wade 7 , for Victoria.  This would likely be their position in the test team if playing together so why not do the same in shield?
I feel for the likes of Maxwell,  Faulkner etc ... they have test aspirations but get denied as many opportunities due to limited overs commitments . How could anyone deny there are scheduling problems when this keeps happening?
