I don't think people had issue with actual pro's using bats with sharpie on the toe, it was more certain retailers who happened to have hundreds of "pro issue" sharpie bats in at any given time looked a bit suspect...

Seriously hundred at any given time. Never seen such retailers who are they.
Only ones I know such as cricmart who got probably 15-20 in a year. Also another seller I know in India who sold 4 player bats in the last 10 months.

Yeah , this deal would be worth a sweet penny ...... reminds me of when Steve Waugh just signed onto mrf for squillions . He was playing a shield game against Tassie . One of the players ( can't remember who , but it was a regular shield player who never played international cricket )  sledged Waugh with 'c'mon , lets get this kashmir willow bat outa here' !
