What is a warm up?

We have a game of football or American football, followed by some fielding drills. Normally if a home game too some of us will go on the machine to just find the middle of the bat (I normally use up all my form then and feel rusty when I walk out to bat)

to be fair I got some stick from being welded to the bowling machine I the past  but Nick is a different gravy......
