Not 100% sure but they look almost identical to the old Gel Advance 5, which were superb. Got several years out of mine including bowling seam in them, incredibly comfy and light.

For an alrounders shoe I'd recommend the Asics Gel 220 not out , I still have the 200 not out and they are so comfortable.

Not all of them have too, bowlers in particular get there sponsor to pay for them if possible. "Shoes are more important than bats to them!"

yep must be a different shoe, the wage difference between Aussie cities or the exchange rate or something!!

Interesting you single out a shoe on special and ignore the other brands and models priced the same or dearer than most retailers. I shouldn't bite I know but people that are either pushing agenda's or sprouting garbage as fact annoy me, no blood pressure issues though.

If you were earlier involved in the thread you would had notice many of the poster were recommending ASICS, I provided a link to a site which supplies them at a decent price, checked it out for yourself if you want the facts.
I would suggest that 99% of the forum members, like myself  get a lot of enjoyment of purchasing new kit, been able to purchase this kit at great prices means we all can purchase more, which equals more fun for us.
There are many wise sellers/batmakers who use this forum to promote and sell their kit with great success.
If any seller offers a product at a great price they too will be among the discussions on the forum.
I look forward to seeing your latest forum members red hot offer, and you know skip, I will even provided the link for all of us to share and send some of my hard earnt your way.

I see what you're saying. But heavy discount on Asics means they are great value. I've never owned a pair of Asics, but assume the massive RRP means they are the business. So if they are a similar price to something low end, hence low cost, that makes them a bargain in my book.

Anyway, could your reasoning not potentially be interpreted in a different way? If they are being discounted so much, this is probably because they are in extremely low demand. This could be because people have tried and tested them, and thought they were rubbish - they than tell everyone else how bad they are - and they don't sell. Or, the massive RRP has put buyers off because they don't think the shoes are that good enough to start with, therefore they wouldn't sell that way.
Therefore, personally I would see massive discounts on those, and think not "they now cost the same as something low end - they must be good," but rather "what has meant they are now having to be sold at that price? Why didn't they sell before? Maybe there's something wrong."

Depends if peoples veiws are i would but i cant justify the price so ill get the best i can afford. I know ive done that before

If we are specifically referring to the Asics ODI shoe, the same happened in the UK. It started as a very expensive shoe, the priciest item of footwear i've ever sold. Obviously at that price it was never going to sell in big numbers and it does seem a lot of retailers now have hefty discounts, although some of these are because Asics themselves are clearing off stock at reduced pricing rather than retailers taking a hit on something they need to shift.

All of the above happened despite the ODI being easily the best cricket spike i've ever worn. I'd still be wearing mine now had it not been for the release of the Adidas SL22 Boost.

It does no argument, my issue was some dropkick suggesting a site was just cheaper across the board when actually he had only singled out a couple of specials.
