I look forward to seeing your latest forum members red hot offer, and you know skip, I will even provided the link for all of us to share and send some of my hard earnt your way.
It does no argument, my issue was some dropkick suggesting a site was just cheaper across the board when actually he had only singled out a couple of specials.
seriously is that anyway to speak to your potential customers, try this approach.
Hey guys, have to agree with this thread ASICS do make a great shoe, I know you guys love buying new kit. That top bloke well past my peak has kindly shared a link to a site which is offering these shoes at a very decent price.
For this month only KG's  will match these prices and throw in a matching pair of socks. Just use coupon thanks well past my peak at the checkout.

Not all of them have too, bowlers in particular get there sponsor to pay for them if possible. "Shoes are more important than bats to them!"

Also not true. Footwear companies do not give county cricketers full sponsorship; they offered them discounted rates, but it does not tie them to the brand.

You will will iften see players using 2 or 3 brands in the same season.

Overall you are right, unless of course their bat sponsor happens to make shoes. New Balance, Adidas, Puma etc.

The main reason Plunkett left GN to go to NB was the offer of as many customised bowling shoes as he needed.

County pros get a discount on whatever brand the PCA is associated with at the time, but if they don't like that brand they will have to shop elsewhere or rely on their bat sponsor to buy them for them. We provide shoes to our Focus sponsored professionals, and in fact provided shoes to Rob Sayer at Leics before Focus was a thing in the UK. We've also looked after a few H4L players at Kent when Matt has asked us to sort a deal for them.

You see a lot of players now with a bat sponsor also tying up a deal with a retailer. The most notable recent example is probably Duckett and Pro Direct. Great deal for them as they managed to get him to have Adidas' cheapest shoe by the look of it.

Thanks, Vitas.

I thought that was simply Duckett's preferred shoe, in the same way that quite a few pros seem to prefer Asics' unfussy cheapest shoe.

Plunkett used Ian Mason handmade boots for several years. You don't seem to see these any more?

Definitely not wrong! Mr  Bats, one player i know of had his sponsor pay for his shoes- not a footwear brand his bat sponsor! not saying its the norm but was an agreement they had!

Still not supplied free by the footwear manufacturer. It's like saying you're sponsored because your mum buys your kit for you. Well not exactly...

If is also possible that the "basic" shoe you see a player in is heavily customised. Not sure how it is in cricket but I've seen various Welsh rugby players shoes in individual pieces ready to be remade with a custom fit

I doubt Arun Harinath had his  Asics 100 not outs specially customised.

Fairly common for international players I believe, forget the name but there's an Aussie shoe company who love to post all the player's shoes they've done on twitter.

Just throwing it out there as an option. It isn't that special and open to regular Freds too and only mentioned rugby as I was in Cardiff at the time and not a lot else happens in Wales ;) In other sports, more effort goes in to getting names in to lower end kit to sell the entire range.

More on topic, there was an interesting study in the UK military where they looked in to footwear to try and reduce the high number of injuries during basic training. They had lots of different fancy shoes and different fancy fitting methods but at the end of the day the group with the best outcome was the one where individuals chose their own shoe from a pile based on the first feel. Basically, go for the shoe that feels most comfortable when first trying it on. This is the most likely reason a pro may chose a low end shoe I'd imagine.

Hi-Tec Silver Shadows were standard military issue for many years, were they not?

@Churchy1989 , nice looking shoe but a word of warning.

Had a number of consults with my podiatrist this year, the business also specialises in custom cricket shoes.
The shoe you posted looked like it contains a lot of mesh in the upper of the shoe. This isn't very strong or supportive.
If you spend anytime in front of the bat where you need to start/stop quickly or change directions you might find they wear out quickly.

Podiatrist (who didn't push any products to me) suggest that for fielding especially, get a cross trainer (sideways movement stability) with about 80% (or more) leather upper (or synthetic equivalent) to spike up so they last.

this is great advise and has been my experience as well. Generally cricket shoes have far more in common with cross trainers than runners

Good leather cross trainers, like you suggest, in white are pretty hard to find these days.
