Alistair Cook is to captain the England Team when they play Bangladesh in March. Strauss has been dropped. What do all you guys think about this decision ?

Dont like the idea personally. Strauss needs form, and to keep motivating the england side which we know at times can be lackluster.

I think the tour to bangladesh is a bit of weird choice though, i can see why they are resting straussy but think it makes a bit of a mockery of england captain, not a part time job!

anderson's out too i hear?

Strauss deserves it - he has played non stop cricket and, in my opinion, was the best batsman in 2009.

I was watching Sky Sports News and they comapred the amount of matches Strauss will be able to take part in, in 2010 and basically he will play 50% more cricket (12 tests) than Ricky Ponting will be able to (8 tests) and 200% more than the other international captains (4/5 tests).

That, you will agree, is a lot.

I dont know if you captain your club side, but I have done, and its a job in itself. Admittedly Strauss doesnt have to be the one chasing his players, trying to put 11 men down for a game, but even without that, I feel that captaining was a whole different ball game. And it DOES affect your personal game, negatively most of the time. Getting a 50 was a standard thing for me, but when I was asked to captain the team, I wasnt getting nearly as many half tons.
