I guess they are thinking/hoping he won't be in the England squad next summer.  ;)

bit of a surprise this , there are some of course who still are made captain despite being an England player. Vince I think would be one although he may not get back for a while(if ever) in England colours.

Got to be honest I may be down the wrong track but I think this could be significant as far a possible recall goes.

We have had Hameed and Jennings come in the batting as well as Butler. Englands batting now has a lot of options without Ballance

Lees is a bit young for the job, and one big year from the England side. This protects him, and gives GB a much needed shot in the arm.
