Another great net session. Thanks to Si for organising, Northern, Bruce and Jason for the provisions.

Not feeling too bad atm (other than my hand, shouldn't have tried that return catch off Siv), but bet I will be aching tomorrow.

Thanks Simon another wonderful day.  Glad you liked the Samosa.

That Chase was my high light, what an amazing bat, unbelievable pick up, it felt lighter than my 2.8.

Another utterly charming session with a broad range of chums. It seems that only us friendly, down to earth Southern Nancies can organise frequent nets, and we are now pulling in several Northerners, a few from the midlands, a man with a lustrous beard and Sussex's answer to Violet Beauregarde (you know who you are!!!).

Many high points today:

@jblowe bringing his wife's samosas - absolutely sublime

@jblowe , despite looking like cricket's most traditional player, getting seriously aroused by Dave's massive T20 style Chase

@Batbuddy99 totally exploding one of his bats - seriously, one bit was in his hand and the other was hanging in the netting

@petehosk batting with the same bat for quite some time!

@WalkingWicket37 bowling 3 consecutive full-tosses which were despatched and announcing "right, that's it, I'm out of wicket-taking options!"

@Churchy1989 turning a new colour which was somewhere between pink and Ribena

@procricket pulling on his special chestguard and charging the bowling machine - bravest hobbit in the shire

@tom line attempting something violent to a short ball and ending up tangled in the netting at short leg

@Mpt7  and @Sivlar13  having a 'special friends net' where they whacked the ball and charged up and down shouting "there's 2 there" or "push it, push it" - WTF, it nearly made me choke on my 4th flapjack!

But the final word shall go to an unnamed attendee who said to me 'It's a bit odd being here, is everyone a bit of a weirdo?'  despite having brought more bats than most, batting, bowling, offering to keep, talking to absolutely everyone about their kit, picking up everyone elses bats and playing more than a full part in the day'.

Yes my friend, we are all weirdos - and you sir, are definitely one of us!!!

I'm still not entirely sure how I ended up tangled in the net on the floor, but at least it provided some entertainment
