Well I have recently moved back down south and with Crimbo the only time of year I now can spend on bats with the kids getting bigger and wanting more(usual thing I guess for many).

Well my wife yesterday came in with a voucher for my old mate Dan at Chase for a bespoke bat...

And for the older members will remember when I started I was crazy about chase bats..

She is sick of all my B3, anyway I rang Chase up yesterday and told them based on @smilley792 big bat thread a few speaks like square toe and a big coverage bat and with my late 1mm drop on the blade to help pick up which if anybody has a shorter blade will testify.

I had enough voucher for a R4 but asked for a massive bat I wanted at least 48mm edge and not arsed about spine as long as it is full.

He glued a Grade 3 cleft up and seems to have a few oversized and told me to turn up at 10.

He made the beast in front of me from scratch and in truth it covers my coverage theory but with a pick up that is absolutely mental and miles better than the Halestorms and Pro Performance which I picked up which in truth are impressive bits of bats too.

Anyway enough Waffle Spec...

Edge 51/52mm
Spine 66mm
toe 26/27mm
shoulder 25mm
Weight 2/12
Pick up MENTAL as good as many of my 2/8 bats and for the people who are going to the southern net I will show you.
Ping.. Only tapped a few balls up it will need lots of knocking in it is soft.

I have know Dan off and on for 10-12 years was good to catch up and to see how things have grown at Chase the product is excellent as it always really was.

Got to thanks @smilley792 who has one if not the best bat I have picked up on the forum maybe oneday I will be able to afford one.

Overall very happy with the bat sorry my pictures are not Chad standard...

I agree with the shoulder drop helping bat pickup theory.
This one is a massive bat. First look reminds of newbery blitz.
Enjoy

Spot on that Davey boy, right up my alley. Disappointed you've defected back to the southerners though ;)

Lovely bat that mate really like the stickers and the profile is very good indeed is it a shorter blade mate it looks massive and with a high middle the pick up will be extremely good

@procricket : Lovely bat, will be a cracker for sure once it opens up. I particularly loved what seems to be a nice thick handle to go with the thick blade. For some reason, even the biggest bats with thin handles don't look serious adult/game bats to me :)

Just curious since you said shorter blade has better pickup - where do you hold the bat? Do you hold it higher and find better pickup or hold it right in middle of handle or low in handle and find better pickup.. Asking since I found better pickup only if I held my shorter blade bat in the middle of the handle or lower (which in turn makes me feel the blade is short) but if I held it higher in the handle to feel same length as regular blade SH, the pickup seemed worse than regular length blade.

I love it not bad for 180 notes made in front of me will thank the wife later.

I hold it slightly lower but I use to hold my sh slightly lower.

For me it also the amount of wood evenly split between the shoulders and toe which is the real key.

And I thought my hulk bat was a club.

That looks mental.

While it is unlikely to happen for many understandable reasons I would love to have chase on here more.

This sort of reminds me off my scoop, thick edges all all over, but obviously without the scoop! How this is 2'10 is beyond me!

As @simonmay5 said cant wait to see this at a net in the new year
