My top picks at Uzi Sports
« on: January 01, 2017, 06:15:21 PM »

So today was my annual visit to Uzi Sports.  Arrived at 10 AM and took the train back at 5! That is how many bats I went through.  I made a mess of the store that Asad and Uzi will now have to clean up.  Although there are a number of phonemenal bats in the store,  I made the following list of my favorites.  These are all based on performance and pick up in my very amateur opinion.

I'll start with the GN's as they seemed to stick out the most for me.  I was most curious about the new predator,  and it did not disappoint.  This halestorm was pretty special ping wise:

While I wasn't really interested in the Velocity and Powerbow based on stock pics,  I was pleasantly surprised by the pick up and response on these two

Having never seen a legend in the flesh,  I have to say it was pretty special,  but a bit to pricy.  The pro performance picked up slightly lighter than the halestorm and tapped up equally well

While not really a fan of the funky shapes,  this ultimate was actually amazing for the price and quality!

From some of the other brands,  this Salix torque seemed incredibly powerful.  This 50/50 picked up like a dream and had an incredibly long middle.  The chrome was just generally a sexy bat all around

Then some interesting finds in the back room,  like this made in England screaming cat copy,  picks up so deceivingly well with a huge middle

Then these absolute bas belters found in the bargain bin. Absolutely solid bats,  a hard hitters dream.

I'll let you guys guess which ones I walked away with.

The ultimate.  And a Joe root profile uzi at 2.8, that I can't post pics of yet as the stickers haven't been officially released.

Oh yeah,  and the pro performance......

I remember when Simon and I went there, barely even scratched the surface yet still spent a good 2 hours there and found at least 5 bats that were special including the 2,10 Blitz with a 50mm edge really is an unbelievable bat cave

Probably no surprise that the scat copy is very very similar to an M&H original low.

As soon as I can find a place that does the Pro Performance with a longer handle to make it a short handle, I am purchasing one!
