The natural line on the cleft is making the crack look a bit longer and the crack itself looks like as if someone drew a line with a blade.

This is a normal surface crack. You may see it open up and the surface lift a bit from the rest of the bat...in that case a simple glue+tape/clamp will be an easy fix. No need to worry at all.

as every one said its a surface crack. You can sand it away if you have a sander .

I would just put some fibre tape on the edges and she should be fine.

1. Oil of ulay - millions spent on this in the attempt to remove fine lines.

2. And my personal favourite....use fire to destroy the bat and all accompanying softs.

I'm 95% sure I wouldn't have even noticed that.

The crack so thin that there is no scope of using any sort of glue. I am thinking of taping it would suffice?

Lol... well when i eventually notice a crack that i'm worried about then i'll be certain to apply my own logic.

In the mean time i think your edge tape option is probably going to work best for your circumstances... and more importantly if it gives you more confidence in your bat then thats the main thing.

I suppose given my basic lack of ability i should be more worried about cracks on the edge.. given that the outside edge is the way i mainly get out and the inside edge is my main scoring shot, I've been thinking about getting a custom bat made, based on the original scoop... just taking the perimeter weight design to more of an extreme "is that a hole in the middle of your bat" type of design.

Looking forward to it or may be not 

ATM taping it makes more sense. Lets see what happens. I have knocked in a bit more on the same area just to see if it opens up a bit more and fortunately wasn't the case. So as everyone said its a BAU crack.
