Hi guys, do you guys recon this could be a potential crack?

New bat, crack is on the inside edge. Not sure what should be my next step to avoid more damage.

I have oiled it twice with almost 24 hours of gap in between. Got it knocked in by a machine more than 20 thousand knocks. Came back home started knocking the edges to blunt it. Outside edge had no issues but when I started knocking the other side thats where the little crack started to form. Played it in nets for few balls (old ball) and i could see seam marks on the bat.

All bats should crack but not split. As far as I can see normal bat surface crack.

It's looks to be just a surface crack mate, it happens to all bats eventually through use (apparently...) and is nothing to worry about.
You could put a dab of superglue in the crack and give it a sand it while the glue is still wet if you're worried about it getting bigger.

If seam marks are still appearing I'd say your priority should be to knock the bat in more.

I really don't understand people using knocking in machines, why no sleeve out of interest?

That's a relief! Shall I oil the bat once more? Hope it isn't because of dryness.

That makes sense. However, what a waste of money with machine knocking in service. I guess I will have to do it manually.

I have never knocked in a bat before so didn't want to risk it in anyway. I thought it would be better to do after the initial knock in. Would you recommend applying it first and continue with knocking in?

No after preparation but before you started hitting balls.

@radical.haqer@gmail.com - Who did the machine knocking for you ? I had a couple of bats machine knocked by Jason @ Cricstoreonline. It was pretty well done. Edges were rounded off for the entire stretch from toe to handle and i could see significant dent on the toe which shows the extra work done in that area.

That's too long of a hair fracture line to be only a mere "surface crack" - get ready to see a big chunk of timber parting ways from the mainland unless you wrap some ugly string all around it.
