SA v SL series
« on: January 12, 2017, 01:41:50 PM »

Am I missing something? No previous thread?

Anyway we're at the third test now where SA are 2-0 up. Big day for Amla as he marks his 100th test. Played some lovely shots.

6th ton for Duminy also.

For someone with JPs talent he has really underachieved at international level. Great to watch when in full flow.

A Yarpie YJB.  In the side, out of the side, bat three, bat seven, 12th man, open, dropped etc.

On the cricinfo commentary feed someone asked about Hash's average when Wayne Parnell is in the team which turns out to be a rather impressive 256. This knock has bumped his career average back over 50 again.

Karunaratne can only score vs the likes of Zimbabwe and Bangladesh.

Fails against any decent opposition constantly

Really poor cricketing wicket - no way should a pitch be going up and down on days 2 and 3 of a test match. Wouldn't have made a difference to the result but even duminy mentioned he wouldn't have wanted to bat on it at the end.

Not sure what you're watching, looked fine. Certainly better than the roads Australia serve up and batting puddings Asia can produce. SL are just dire and can't bat, simple as that. White ball players.

So if a test is over in 3 days outside the subcontinent it's fine. Even duminy mention the bounce and so did Matthews - so must not have been a great wicket?? Or are they just talking crap. No doubting SL are rubbish

Did you watch it ?

Perfectly acceptable wicket. Who the hell wants a road where batters can just hit anything that moves and rack up the runs. SL needed discipline and technique and were found wanting. SA scored 400 so it simply wasn't a bad wicket.

If Asia want to serve up bunsens then do so, players need to have techniques and be able to adapt, that's the mark of a good batter.. not just smashing runs on roads and when it gets tough duck out

T20 today!

Parnell bowling, has a dolly dropped at 3rd man.
Next ball, keeper drops one gloved to him.
Next ball Parnell drops a pretty simple caught and bowled.

So 3 in 3, pretty neat hat trick.  Parnell looked pissed.

Don't recognise many of the SA players.

Or the srinlamkan called dickwella......... will that get passed the swear filter?
