I thought the max specs were 40mm edge nand 67mm spine?

http://www.cricket.com.au/news/bat-sizes-limit-restrictions-mcc-laws-of-cricket-code-warner-mankad-handling-the-ball/2017-03-07

My current bat has 42mm edges and a 65mm spine. If I get a new bat at max spec then there is negligible difference, but obviously how they are shaped can differ, concaving, low/mid/high sweet spot locations.

It's 60mm from the edge and 67mm from the face to allow for a maximum 7mm camber. If your bat only has a 2mm camber then too bad - it's still only 60mm from the bottom of the edge (corner of edge and face).

Bats here in Australia the vast majority we sell are under 2.10, a full bat at maximum specs will still be a very big bat, I can't think of any high end grade player that bought any of the Warners, 50+ or XP models, all too heavy, mainly sold to park cricket biffers. I don't think there will be much affect at all, people forget that this forum is very different to the general buying public.

The XP starts at 2'9? Have you been forgetting to eat your porridge in Oz?

Ha Ha yeah, bouncy wickets and that I suppose. Hence the great buy's at the end of the season for XP bats.

I was surprised the discounts on the XP's were so high! They seem perfectly suited to fast bouncy wickets with the nice mid-high middle and the performance from them is unreal!

I believe there is some leeway for previously purchased bats. Bat size restrictions come into immediate effect for international players. I believe village cricketers like me, are allowed to carry around a GN50+ until it breaks  :D

They have sold better to UK and US than here, same as 50 plus.

People here rather buy whatever bats their favourite pro's are using on TV.

The Kookaburra's, New Balances etc

I have never seen or picked up a warner bat or 50+ but i always thought that extra amount of wood would be useless for those in 2.8-2.10 range.... agree, biffers would love it :)

Using 2.7-2.8 bats, I can only dream about using one of these big GN bats. I still love the idea of getting one, but I don't think I could use it.

So ALL the GN's, literally every single one that youve seen, has cracks and or broken shoulders?
