I have another bat that has a crack in the toe. I need to get it fix. Did you use the same repair for toe? Is shoulder repair different than toe repair?

Same principle, glue and clamp, dependent on the crack it may require doweling or a lamitoe to support it as well

What do people use for the bind and how do you apply it?

This is how it looks. I was told it could either give me few seasons or few games. Is it worth investing?

If the repair is done well it should be solid, take the toe guard off and you'll the find the crack probably goes through the toe, needs opening up, glueing, either doweling through or a lamitoe and then tape/binding

I guess the usual binding is the same as what you'd bind the handle with, then probably coated with PVA.  Back in the day, I remember my dad and a couple of his team mates used fishing line as binding.  Did the job and also rebounded off the fishing line well.

@tom line I am sending this to my mate who does this for living. This is a beautiful willow and I couldn't afford to take a risk. He is giving me a good price to get it fix. I am hopeful..

Remove toe guard, open and glue the crack..  clamp.... use 2 or 3 dowels depending on how long the crack is... finally bind it....

u will now know if is worth it until u do repair it and use it....
