Love watching him bat in full flow. He seems a really down to earth guy and as I suspected like most pros he isn't anywhere near as fussy about his bats as most of the people on here = proof that the vast majority of the time it's the guy using the bat and not the bat itself that scores the runs.

Known him for a few years as a fellow Hillingdon boy - really nice lad - and bats beautifully - well espiceally against villagers like myself aha - always asked him for a bat and does promise me one when he's back from India - know he's home now after surgery so will have to get in contact with him

dont think much of him as a player but we played against Denham couple of years ago(his dad plays there I think) they said Hales still comes back to visit the club and give out awards to kids

and for that he should get huge kudos.

does seem quite a down to earth bloke as well.

I met him in Durban in 2015, and he seemed like a really decent bloke.

Interesting that he said he's gonna bat at 3/4 for Notts in county games and try and get in the England team in the middle order.
Maybe an option at number 3 and move Root back to 4?

Do pros get their bats knocked in etc before they are sent to them? I assume when he said he just used it straight out of the packet it was match ready.
