He has the likes of Steve Davies and a certain classy South African born keeper/batsman to compete against very soon :-) so he needed to improve his keeping!

foster does have test caps.
i really hope the england selectors try out all options before keiswetter. it would be really hard to support an england kolpak team.

As much as i would love to see Foster as England keeper, i cant see it happening unless his batting improves. He is with no doubt the best gloveman in England, or possibly world cricket, but his batting is just not consistent enough. Prior has improved his glovework tremendously and his batting is just as good, so he shouldnt be going anywhere just yet. Seems like Davies is next in line to take the gloves if Prior goes through a rough patch though...

From what i have seen in Domestic OD cricket, Davies or Kieswetter would be good picks for ODI cricket.

its funny how the collingwood witch hunt has gone quiet now hes made a few runs! im sure critisisms of kp and trott will blow over in much the same way as soon as they get going again. form is temporary and all that. we have to remember that kp has just come back from injury to face a very good bowling attack with millions of south africans piling the pressure on him, no wonder he didnt make many runs... i wouldnt have picked him for the saf tour in the first place for those reasons and gave him more time to recover
