To be fair, once you've been made skipper you're always gonna be the first name written on the team sheet!

It is very likely Root will be captain, so in 4 years time he will be 30 and ready to play just as a batsman again for another 6 years.

Do England really need to name a vice captain? It doesn't mean anything.

I suppose it matters more in sub continent where a skipper may need to leave the pitch as a matter of 'urgency' .... leaving the vice captain to bring himself onto bowl...
