Time for Some new pads.
« on: February 20, 2017, 04:06:08 AM »

Hey guys time to get some new pads tossing up between the gm original le's or the gray nicolls legends. Just wanted some feed back on the two and if you have tried them both what differences are there.

I have the 2016 GM Original LE pads and I have to say that for comfort that they are one of the best. The quality of the materials is second to none and they are a very lightweight option with test quality protection. I have used them as match pads along with the gloves all year and they have been very comfortable. They are not as light as the Legends , however more protective I feel having used both.

Don't think you can go wrong with either in terms of protection. However a lot of people on here have great reviews on the GN Legends, didn't see as many reviews on the GM OLEs (someone can correct me if I am wrong, but that was what I observed at least). Personally like the look of the GN Legends and think they fit/wrap around better.

I have had GM LE pads, but the new ones are too heavy now. I would go for the Legend pads if I was offered the two now.

going from gm ole to using legends this season as didn't like this years and legends came highly recommended

I would say legends just shave it as few added extras compared to my gm ones

Daft money for pads, but Legends are the best money can buy IMO.

I had the 2015 GM OLE pads and they were absolutely brilliant. They were simply the best pair of pads I've had.

I tried the GN Oblivion Test pads (the model below the Legends at the time of purchase) and found them to be too narrow. They didn't wrap far enough round my calf and felt bulkier round my shins than the GMs. Don't get me wrong they were lovely pads, just not a great fit on my tree trunks  :(

I get a $600 fitness allowance from work to pay for gym or sports each year so not really my money haha.

Cheers guys kinda leaning towards gm since i already have gm bats and gloves.. but if i buy legends gives me an excuse for more gear.

I would go with GN legends. I just bought them myself last week. After doing a lot of research and positive feedbacks, I decided to purchase them.

Is there any significant difference between the legend pads from the uk vs aus?
