Also read somewhere that a square toe helps you control the shot due to the square giving you a supeRior stance but a guess it depends on your stance.

@JB

No essay from me about it they just sit better for me since I started using them and got used to them.

People are right about them being more prone to damage.

but I will not stop as I'm used to them.

Do they make the bat look wider I'm not so sure on that mind.

My theory is if youer trying to belt a Yorker good luck no matter what the shape of the toe.

@Seniorplayer  that is my theory too

I personally prefer a square toe (and duckbill). several related reasons (just my personal feel/opinion) ...

1) square toe gives more hitting surface area on bat,
2) it makes bat face look bigger giving me more confidence to middle the ball..
3) i like to feel my bat as a simple rectangle to hit the ball rather than a complicated shape with rectangle top and semicircle bottom..
4) my square toe bats generally ping better off the bottom than the curved toe ones..
5) feels very stable when tapping bat
6) more surface area when blocking yorkers/ driving full balls

(lastly, duckbill for pickup)

Not a fan myself but agree with all of the above
