I have found I hold my shape better with a 2.11 bat than with a lighter bat. Anything more then I get tennis elbow. It is a bit if a fine libe for me.
there's a whole other thread on tennis/golfers elbowdo you think it's def the way forward to go significantly lighter for those of us that have suffered with elbow problems?
Because it compromises technique.
I have tennis elbow , the last 10 months or so . All my bats are between 2lb6oz and 2lb9oz. The 2lb9oz's exacerbate the elbow pain( particularly when off driving) , but 2lb8oz is fine . So i don't think you need to drop too much weight necessarily, just enough to not strain so hard .
Of course it is you what you lose in welight you gain in bat speed but the main benefit is that the lighter bat will enable you to bat longer as you won't be distracted by elbow pain
Pain is the friend of tennis elbow! You need to punish it as much as you can to rebuild the damage.
