My 2017 season match bats
« on: March 03, 2017, 01:55:20 PM »

Off work today so thought I'd take a couple of photos of my match bats for 2017 season.

Have got to say these are the best bats I've probably ever owned

NB TC1260 Limited Edition
2lb 8.5oz
9 very straight, evenly spaced grains
39mm edge
62mm spine

Kookaburra Pro bat
Genuine NB stickers (hope this is ok Admin)
2lb 7.5oz
9 grains
37mm edge
59mm spine

Both tap up very well. The NB still needs some knocking in but the Pro Kook is used and is an absolute gun! Will definitely start as my match bat. Pretty difficult to leave a £400 bat as reserve.

The Kookaburra has had a small bit of toe damage but seems solid enough. It cleaned up very well so has been a bargain for only £60!

Very happy with them both and have a brand new Laver, a crown Tonto and a decent BAS I got off Dave all in reserve.

Just waiting for the anti fibreglass scuff sheet brigade to moan about you "ruining" the Limited Edition...

I love a fibreglass sheet, but that puts me into the minority around here  :(

Sorry but the fibreglass sheet IS sacrilege!! Lovely bat, just get a nice clear sheet on there to show it off. 😉

Always has to be a clear scuff sheet for me on brand new bats, but after one or 2 refurbs, a fibreglass one is acceptable. ;)

Lovely bats there, the LE one looks lush! Looks to have a pretty damn long middle. :)

LE looks really good. Please update after using it. I am curious to know what makes it £500+ bat.

It was made for Rilee Rossouw and I bought it from a bloke who was Quentin de Kock's best man. I was meant to get a match worn QdK shirt but thanks to Royal Mail that got lost in the post!

I'll disagree on the scuff, a bat is for using not just looking at.... I love the shape of the LE, I need all the help I can get...

I will give you an update - not sure when that will be as the Pro Kook will be starting the season as match bat. I'm glad I didn't pay £500.... anything over £300 is mental for a piece of wood....especially second/third hand
