Are there any indian bats with a relatively high middle something along the lines of a CA. If you happen to know one, please can you comment on the performance. I had a look at Grade 3 offerings of BDM and Ceat, but never used either of them.

I have a bdm, all be it a high grade one but the quality seems on par with other Asian brands, soft Press and probably a bit drier than it should be but well performing. I'm assuming the CEAT bats would be made in the same factories and be a similar quality to other stickers brands like MRF

BDM and SG have high middle bats mostly out of the Indian brands I know. Rest all tend to come in low/mid-low middles....

BDM, SG & BAS has high middle.
Oil them and you will get a durable bat.

CEAT has the best high profile bats.

One of my Hitman has a 45-46mm edge plus huge full profile no concaving and tall spine, and is only 2lb 10oz, with beautiful pick up.

I've never owned an Indian made bat, always been English or Aussie made. Those who use them, is the quality comparable to Ens/Aus made? I like to support Aussie made as much as possible but with bats getting near to AU$1000 for a top-grader it is making it very difficult to do so. There are plenty of Aussie brands who get their sticks made in India (TNF, Icon, etc) and their prices are far more reasonable. Just in terms of quality of performance and also durability, how do Indian made stack up?

Aussie big branded bats are way too overpriced in my opinion, unless it's something special like the GN 50+ etc...
The Indian bats I got all ping sensationally, and for the price points even if they are not as durable, it probably costs less to buy another one than to buy one Aus/Eng made bats with less performance.

I think AUS/Eng handcrafted bats are too hyped, sure it's supporting locals but to compare the bats on performance they are definitely not better in my personal experiences.

Even my L & W bat pings very average compared to some of the much cheaper Indian bats I have. I have the L & W as more of a collectors item than something I would actually use.

Yeah, I guess you see some of the videos from batmakers who criticise the workmanship of some of these bats, how the handle is fitted, etc, and it provides a negative perception.

From someone who just has purchased a SS Gladiator and SG Players and has used UK and AUS, the arguement that they are inferior is nonsense. 15+ years ago perhaps the standards werent as good and the UK and AUS markets lead you to believe that this is still the case. They certainly can compete with the UK and Aus markets and even excel them. The number of $900+ planks i have seen upon walking into Greg Chappels Cricket Centre and various other stores only backs this up. My Gladiator (which isnt a pro release, standard bat) is better than some of the Pro Release bats that i have used from the Aus and UK market

I've had English Willow bats made in both England and India and both perform well. The English made bats were from Salix and granted they were custom made  by Andrew to my specifications and the bats did ping. The Indian made bats were already made but I had a huge selection to choose from and they performed very well too (I hit my first 6 and 50 with one of these bats), the one thing I would say is the performance drop off was quicker in these bats which I suspect could be as they were drier from the Indian heat but the performance was totally fine.

This season I'm moving back to English made with the Kookaburra Blaze which looks like a beautiful bat and despite not having a massive profile it does ping and pick up beautifully.
