I'm by no means a big Duckett fan but the lad has some talent! Still only 22, needs to learn but feel he can be the equivalent of Warner for England. Not sure he is needed in Test cricket though. Jennings and Hameed will do a job and Cook isn't going anywhere soon.

And while there is gap between div 1 and div 2, its not as big as made out in the media, lots of good players down in div 2.

Warner is a totally different kettle of fish to Duckett. Duckett's foot work is terrible and is clueless against anything other the dibbly dobbers

Westley of Essex might be a name on the horizon possibly...yes it's Div 2 bowling he is facing but looks a good player

but would like to see him  maybe get a chance with the Lions, don't think he has been on the latest tour.

It'll be div 1 this year and he was pretty much the most consistent bat for the lions over the winter.

That is an absolute humping for the North! Looking at the teams you would say South are a fair bit stronger to be fair. Just looked up Coughlin as I hadn't heard of him before, obviously a young lad but how's he snuck in with a List A batting average of 6.6 and bowling average of 98?!

From a Durham fans point of view it was a bit of a shock to see Coughlin called up to be fair but he is well thought of at Durham, he's just recently been named vice captain of the 50 over side. His younger brother has been off playing with the u19s too so obviously a talented family!

His t20 figures are much more forgiving!

Agreed he feasts on average bowling, but disagree on the footwork. He uses a simple method and relies on his hands and head being in good positions, a la Trescothick. All about weight transfer and keeping both head and hands on a good path.
