It's not a secret is it? Stickered with the place of origin in India anyway
I mean to the general public, saying "made in india" is one thing (public could still think made in india by NB) while saying made by FCS is another thing. If the general public knows that NB are made by FCS (not talking of forumites here on this matter who know everything, but that is different story   :) ), then they would just buy direct from FCS for lot cheaper than buy a NB bat (i think Protos is FCS' in house brand)...Seems then that NB only cares about their brand visibility rather than in actual selling of their cricket products...

I don't think anyone anywhere would believe that NB actually have an in house batmaker! Think you've hit the nail on the head about them only caring about brand visibility, I quite enjoy that they've ignored pretty much all the cricket brand conventions and concentrated on branding - makes sense for a brand coming in from outside the sport. Highly doubt that to the vast majority of bat buyers the knowledge (or not) that they're Sondhi-made would make the slightest difference, their bat sales surely are mostly made through people liking the look of the stickers and sponsored players, backed up by the decent quality and fairly generic shapes so most players will get on with one of the two.

Time to contact FCS ;)

Appreciate the fact that manufacturer has got some limelight in this case. Otherwise they only stay in the background and everyone else speculates who is the bat maker.

I can tell you from 30 years experience that the vast majority don't give a damn where the pros bats are made.

And some Slazenger bats. Easy to identify by the printed 3 digit number On the handle tip under the grip, eg 701 or 601 etc

Learn something new everyday... i had a feeling the number meant something... but never seen a NB in person to compare.

I think the one thing that really strikes me is this pros don't really fuss about who is the batmaker, pressing etc.  :)  I'm sure some bat makers out here can trump FCS any day, but for pros that seems like a moot point. Its, only, us mere mortals, who seem make more fuss about how the bat was made than if we could actually bat or not. :) :)

Well, they will be given decent bats as standard, we the paying public are sold everything else without a care whether it's a gun or plank
