On a differant note still 6 games with some cricket to be played.

Yorkshire well in charge with Warkickshire still 100 behind

Surrey still 80 odd behind v Lancashire but have 9 in the shed

Middlesex only 30 ahead of Hampshire with only 6 wickets left

Kent well in charge against Sussex after Sam Northeast got 173* yesterday

Durham only lead by 70 odd with 3 wickets left v Notts but Jennings is still there on 93*

Northants v Derbyshire is interesting as there is some declaration bowling going on to set Northants a final day total apparently.

I should have written 'at the time of writing'  ;)

Jennings carries his bat for 102*

You've never seen Dan Lawrence bat. Or bowl. His off-spin will be a consideration in his selection in the same way that Joe Root's is.

I wonder how many of those batsmen with 'genuine cases for selection' you haven't actually seen?

As one of the few on here who goes to any County Cricket (aside from a bit of drunken hit and giggle), I'd wager the nswer to that is "More than you"

Lawrence, aside from telly, I have not seen.  Of the others:

Abell - yes, though only the once and Jack Brooks made him look a tad silly.
Duckett - several times.
Clarke - likewise.
Livingstone - yep.
Westley - several times.
DBD - actually, the only times I've seen Kent in th last few years hehas been either left out or injured.  You can have that one.
Roy - yes.
Hales - many times.
Balance - same.
Lyth - same.
Robson - same.
Vince - made a lovely hundred at Headingley last year.  Sadly! :)
Stoneman - yep.
Borthwick - of course.
Lees - yes.
Gubbins - yes.
Jack Burnham - yes.
Max Holden - only once, in an under 19s game.
Del Rawlins - only on the box.

Yes looks it a bit .... but when you are boeling for a declaration to set up a game why not have a bit of fun and let everyone have a bowl. At least Northants are trying to get a result rather than just settling for a draw.

Did Duckett keep whilst Rossington bowled? 😂 Love this!

Tea delayed at the rose bowl with Middlesex 9 down leading by 188. A quick wicket and this could get interesting.

I applaud you for watching county cricket, Manormanic. One of the daftest conversations you'll regularly hear during summer is people who don't watch any domestic cricket talking about who should be in the England team.

Nope - as we have already established, Roussow, Ervine, Abbott etc are not.

(Yes, I am satirising myself, if anyone is unsure)
