Struggling with my new masuri
« on: March 29, 2017, 02:50:56 PM »

Few weeks back I purchased a Masuri Vision Series ELITE Titanium Grille helmet. I've since used this in 4 nets totalling around an hours or 2s worth of netting and to be honest I'm really at struggling getting myself used to it. I used a normal masuri Titanium for years and it was perfect but given it looked tired I thought it was best to try one of the new safer styles.

Has anybody else really struggled to adapt to the new styles because of the weight and the general feel of the helmet? And if so how have you got around it? I don't really want to do yet another sales topic .... 🙄🙄🙄

Yes mate just takes time, big issue was the closeness of the grill to the peak compared to the old style one

If it's the fit have you tried a different size band?

As stupid as this sounds try watching telly with it on, or generally wearing it to do everyday things.

You might get a few funny looks in your local supermarket, but you'll get used to the helmet quicker doing this than only wearing it to bat

Don't try going into a bank though , that might not work out the best . :( :D

If you are worried about it the closeness of the grill and the weight then thats naturally going to have an effect, when using it forget that its a new helmet and you won't even realise. I have used a Masuri VS Elite Titanium for 3 seasons now and I love mine, personally I wouldn't turn back or even consider another helmet even the Masuri OS helmets

I played a lot of FIFA on the XBox to help me get used to focusing on something through the grill

Mate, i found i got on with it straight away by putting the forehead padding about half way down in the middle of my forehead. Feels a bit too low when you look down but, for me, when im in my batting stance its perfect. I've never had a problem with the vision at all...

Absolutely 100% the solution to this is to send it back and buy a shrey masterclass air. Shrey have been bashed endlessly but I've had zero problems with mine. It's light, it's comfortable it's the nuts. I'm buying another as I've switched teams and their club colour is green. Masuri have created a monstrosity with those vision elites, how anyone can wear one to bat I have no idea. If it still doesn't feel comfortable after all that time batting with it it's never going to. Don't know how the OS2's are as I haven't tried one yet, but I can wholeheartedly recommend a shrey. Don't listen to the moaners. Save the masuri for moto gp that's about all it's good for. The fact masuri had to come out with a new helmet this year tells you everything about it, a LOT of people hated it.

Heavy helmet sort of give a still head when facing the bowler. Because on the weight on my head, i feel more balanced  :D :D :D .. i am pulling ur leg here @GoldenArm.

Masuri is top notch protection, but as you pointed out Shrey is an allrounder which is a better alternative for many people.

I have tried the Masuri Elite range, I've tried the OS2 range, I've tried the Shrey and I've tried an Ayrtek. With all of those helmets I haven't found the vision that great and the weight of the Elite range is far too heavy. The best helmet I found for vision is the GN Players Titanium, I'll admit it is not a cheap option but having tried all the others I felt the GN was the best.

mine kept slipping forward, so I ended up super gluing the sliding adjustment - am very happy with it now

Lol! I saw that many Bangladeshi pros have cut the second bar of their helmets (watch the Champins trophy closely). I guess that is your. Lie right there.

Are you sure they aren't just using the single bar model?
It seems a bit silly they'd cut a bar off when you can simply get a helmet without it in the first place :-[
