New here , just wondering who (IYHO) makes the best shoulderless bat ?

I'm guessing the Blank Bat B20's bat maker would be the best now, however these would be dropped and not as extreme as the Newbery TT or the iconic Excalibur

I know Warsop have made them in the past, and can make them on request.

My old man had a couple of them, and they were pretty good to be honest, I always thought of it as a bit of a gimmick, but each to their own I guess!

@goxu1 -  I don't think there are any mass-produced for the market since the demise of the Newbery TT.

I have 2 - one a Willostix Hurricane which was an off the shelf model with a nice shape, but not sure if it is in the current range. The other was a custom made by John @Red Ink Cricket  which is a dropped shoulder version of a Symonds Tusker / Jumbo, and was superb value for money.

I think getting a maker on here to do you one, might be the best way to go.

Well many will make it for you, but the ones I had on here were from @Red Ink Cricket   and @Ryan  (Kelsall)  both good guys and easy to deal with, despite being from the North.

I had a Stick (the original version) and it was a fantastic bat it just didn't suit my style of play

The idea behind the shoulderless bats is that by taking wood out of the shoulders you can leave more wood in the middle of the bat giving it a bigger sweetspot and better ping from that sweet spot for a lighter overall weight. Some players think it gives the bat a better pick up but I'm not totally sure about that

So in this case, a shoulderless, SB, LH setup would give you a pretty large amount of wood in the hitting area?

In theory that is what happens but it depends on a case to case basis like all bats, these types of bats I would really recommend going to the shop or factory and trying them out as they all feel unique in feel and they aren't for everyone. Like I said earlier they didn't suit me (but then I've never been one for massive monster bats)
