Loved his style and did a great job for Pakistan, but on the other hand Misbah is singlehandedly responsible for ruining cricket! If he hadn't gone for a daft scoop in the first W20 final Pakistan would have won, India still wouldn't care about t20, tests would remain king and county cricket would be safe from city t20s

As a greying, balding, thirty-something with an ever-increasing waist and aching joints, watching Misbah turn up and perform on the international stage well into his fifth decade gave me hope that perhaps I wasn't completely past my peak. It's not the same when you're watching the TV and they're all little shits half your age. It's really weird when you get to this age and still have sportsmen that can look up to like you did when you were a kid.

As a result, he honestly be my favourite sportsman of all time and by God I'm going to miss him. I could probably fill this thread with a hundred posts about how much I love him, and I think I might do it anyway.

A great skipper for Pakistan and not a bad player himself. Had to wait for his turn, but made the most of the opportunity. United a team which was experiencing all kinds of issues! Having to play away from home, and to maintain decent standards, hats off to him!
