I played on Saturday in a friendly, first game for my new club. Took two catches (one standing up and one skyer) and a lucky stumping then scored 36*. Not a bad start. Lots of dots but I'd prefer to score 36 off 100 balls than off 6. We won the game quite comfortably.

This week cup and then league next week, both games away to the same team.

Sadly our first game isn't till the league starts first week of May, I have however been told the by the new skipper for this year that he wants me to open the batting in our Second team, something of which I'm looking forward to previously having batted 6 or below only, a new challenge and hopefully something I can do well at with a bit of application.

Don't worry about it, never stopped me Seriously though, if you're not good on the offside then just hit through the leg side, amateur bowlers are far more interested in wickets than economy rates so they'll come to you!

Our first game was supposed to be last week, oppo called off. Supposed to have a cup game saturday... Cant even get a team! Lets home sunday stays dry!!

Asked if i would open there batting on  Saturday by another club as they are short of players as my clubs not playing but couldn't has the league states you need to be signed this would mean a transfer it's Barmy you have clubs that can't raise a team players who's clubs don't have a match and want to play but are stopped  by league rules  there should be flexibility  eg players on loan

Our league runs a loan scheme or atleast did last year not many used it though from memory (east sussex CL)

This weekend will be a very interesting one, I'm playing on both Saturday and Sunday in my first games of the season and then on Monday I've got a University net session followed by a Uni game of Wednesday which will be interesting

Woohoo, season starts today, first game in nearly 2 seasons due to injury. Playing a tough team, and missing our best bowler, so short of bowling that captain has to use me, oh dear.

Can't. Get around the league rule without a transfer  to play for another club  today  so it's football training  (  as part of cricket fittness )  am followed by  cricket bat weight removal pm.

Cut the bottom off my new whites with a pair of scissors(oh come on we've all done it) kit tramp bag packed, nothing matches at all, and off to dulwich the wrong side of London taaaaaaaan to get the season started

Selected for Brookhouse first team today. Started the season with a 1 from 7 balls, looked and felt in OK for the first 4 balls but went down hill for the last 3 balls of the innings. Suppose for the first time I have played since 2014 it was to be expected really.
