4th game today, 3rd 50 scored. I retired on 50 as we went as many people getting a bat in pre season. Couple of catches so far and nothing dropped or missfiekded so winner chicken dinner

Oppos collapsed a bit today so we ensured that their 7+ got a decent bat

Adi, you're just a machine lol  :D

First game yesterday, struggled early on against some half decent minor counties bowling, but ended up with a scrappy 42 before getting a savage Yorker getting me plumb lbw! 3 weeks till the proper stuff starts!

I'll take my first outing of the season- 48 red off just 21 (6x4s and 2x6s) in a total of 312-3.
Then we restricted them to 159. I got a little trundle towards the end, 5-2-10-2 add a catch and run out, I think my season can only downhill.

Not the start to my season I had hoped for - nicked off in the 4th over to a very good opening bowler for 5 still an enjoyable day and good to get back into it. we go again next week....

Interesting game today.

Skittled them last year for 81 so bowled first and was prepared to feed runs. We got them to 262 off 45 which was a good figure for pre season..  no one is interested if a team hits 300 and it's crap if sub 200.

So, going into tea I'm happy

I send out the other actual batter we had barring myself and fully expected him to ton up (sadly the oppo set the precedent of not retiring on 50 so he wouldn't). Two balls into the innings... opener gone.. third ball.. 3 gone.. 7th ball.. actually batter gone..

Uh oh

Sod it I thought, these guys want a game so kept sending them in.. 3-0 quickly became 10-4.. mini revival to 25-5..

Humm, bet go in and restore some respectability. Plodded along picking off bad balls but not playing a shot in anger to a dinky 71*. We lost more wickets though and got to about 31st over and with a bunny at the other end and another bunny to come and the oppos being thoughlly peed off we were just batting time started bouncing and throwing in beaters..

So I declared and off we went. Decent enough game until the got ratty about not skittling us and nice to get more runs and time in the middle.

My RPC is flying

played at Marlborough College today there head of cricket is Mark Alleyne who is a top bloke.

Strangled down legside on 25 when score 30-0 off 6 was gutted as it hit my thigh pad (dam remfry sounds wooden)

Saw a Wiltshire player get to 100 off about 70 balls then some college student using a ZX Solitaire went on and smashed 170 not out (one of the best innings i have witnessed a pure joy)

Got beat got cheated out but every dog and good to play and watch good players.

I've been selected for an Intra-club warm up game this Saturday. It's on The Green (the ground you asked me about @ppccopener) which is one of my favourite places to play, although the square boundaries are tiny.

Looking at the sides I'm unlikely to be in the 2nd XI this season. After 4 years of doing a job in that side I'm strangely looking forward to the prospect of playing lower down! I may actually be given the chance to bat, and without the pressure of "having to win" I can hopefully just enjoy my cricket this year.

After missing the start and end of the season due to injury in 2016, I can't wait to get playing again. Hopefully 2017 is going to be a good year for me!

After the demise of my old club I've got my first game for the new club on Saturday. After batting quite well I the nets and playing in a higher league for the last couple of seasons I've been picked in the firsts. Need a good couple of scores early on as they have a pretty strong 14 for the first team!

Sadly our first game isn't till the league starts first week of May, I have however been told the by the new skipper for this year that he wants me to open the batting in our Second team, something of which I'm looking forward to previously having batted 6 or below only, a new challenge and hopefully something I can do well at with a bit of application.

First game a Saturday this year, although I'm bit puzzled by a 40 over game being penciled in for a 2pm start.

Last winter net last night, considering I'm fairly awful my bog standard dull bowling has improved, nae work with the bat though; can't hit anything through the offside to save my life...
