First game in about 3 weeks. Due to weather concerns we agreed to 30 overs, but could have easily played 40. We got 163 all out, yours truly contributing 1 after coming in at 8 and just being told to try and slog with 2 overs to go. Suffice to say I missed a straight one.

They only had 9 players to start with, but got to their 30 overs at 69-5, one of their openers carrying for a score of 31; only boundaries in the game were 2 fours in the last 4 overs, other than that we bowled fairly tight and they just didn't have any interest in chasing it down. Was given two overs for a laugh, went for 7 runs which featured a couple of horrible wides but some OK deliveries.

Bit of a nothing game, but glad to get the win

We got back to winning ways at the weekend after 3 losses.
We got 146-7 batting first on a dry track, the spinner they had was different class turning it both ways.
We managed to get a few quickly and bowled them out for 75.
I ended with 5-35 off my 13.
Enjoyable as they cheated us out of a win at their place earlier in the season.

Was meant to have a game today but we're off due to a waterlogged pitch.
How do people cope with this daytime TV rubbish? I wish I'd gone to work!

Yesterday was our Derby at home. Their batting line up was better than ours but our bowlers have the slight edge in that dept so it was going to be interesting contest.

They won the toss and put us in to bat first(?). After a slow start we managed 205 after 35 overs. Batting at 8 I was not needed. Small ground so it's always tricky as a spinner, mishits can still go for fours etc. I got 2 wickets against 21 runs from my 7 overs. More importantly I was at long on and their last big hitter who could still win the game for them lamped one in my direction. I'd decided stopping a 4 was more important than trying a catch so I stayed back thinking this is going to bounce 5-10meters in front of me but it was travelling so low and fast it actually carried all the way and I was able to catch it down on one knee at ankle height. Man that hurt, but it took the wind out of their sails so their run rate dropped making it more of a comfortable win. Nice that.

Playing the team directly above us yesterday, we had a strong side and they had struggled to get 11. We had them 28-1 off about 18 overs when the heavens opened and the game was washed out. Shame, as I fancied us to get the win and ease our relegation troubles.

Take your dog for a walk?

Already done that for a couple of hours this morning, probably best I don't walk the legs off her. I will go down the beach with her again tonight though :)

Get yourself an allotment. It gives you the peace and quiet to solemnly contemplate why on earth you didn't smack a few boundaries off the change bowlers at the weekend.

Got dropped back to the seconds for this week. Was a good game, which we won. Was an unexpected one to say it had been chucking it down all night and through the morning but by 11:30 the sun was out and they had decent covers so the track was still hard.

Won the toss (as the captain hadn't arrived so I tossed up), put them in, skittles them for 116 and knocked it off for 3 inside 30 overs.

Was good to get back to winning ways, shame I couldn't have kept my place in the first team after being the top scorer in both the previous two weeks but enjoyed Saturday and should be safe from any chance of relegation now.

Probably shouldn't have played tonight. But club struggling to get 22 out and a felt semi fit so thought sod it.

Probably shouldn't have, was a liability in the field, movement is shocking. And maybe 3 catches I couldn't get to?

Anyway we batted first, 155 for 3 of 12 overs.
I made 54 of 24 balls including 4 sixes.

Unfortunately we bowled poor and oppo knocked it off 3
2 down with 2 overs to spare!

That's consigned us to 3rd in the league. No promotion again. Gutted

Rained off after 17 overs with the opposition 148/1. We had a really weak side out, and guessed their tactic would be to belt us around for 25 overs and run through us before the rain came. My figures were 4/0/34/1, bowled their opener with one that drifted and dipped through the gate and hit leg stump. Almost had the other opener a couple of times, one a slice which the guy at short third man was about two yards short of (any other person on the team would have got there) and the other when he nailed it back at me and I stuck a hand up as I got down out the way, smacked into my hand but couldn't close my fingers on it and it went off to mid off for 0. Bowled well personally, all the bowlers were pleased to go for less than 10/over!

We won, credit to the oppo who played through the rain. We bowled them out for 116. I was 2.2-0-1-6. Not bad for my first bowling stint for the club. We got home 8 down. Personally got sold down the river for 4. Second run out in as many weeks. Not to worry.

Another win and now top of the league but must say a huge hats off to our oppo Worlingworth CC

At the toss captains agreed to reduce the game to 35overs a side due to forecast from 5pm onward. We were put into bat and myself and opening partner put on 114 for 1st wicket with him the aggressor scoring 78 when he was bowled charging the spinner. 3 & 4 both came and went quickly and then i managed to take 24 from the spinners last over including 2 massive 6's which for me is almost unheard off and when I was out for 77 in 30th over No 6 hit a few late boundaries and we managed 195-6 from our 35.

Quick tea and just as we started to bowl it started raining very lightly. Now we were 2nd in league and oppo 3rd but quite a gap between them and us, we picked up regular wickets but there scoring rate was decent as well game down to last 5 overs and they needed 9am over the rain had got harder and harder as there innings went ahead, oppo skipper however said rained off is no good to either and as long as we were happy so was he, last over 11 to win 2 wickets needed. 4 first ball 3 the next 4 from 4 balls, step up 2nd change bowler who has oppo skip caught at mid wicket then cleans up No11 next ball win by 4 runs and with other fixtures rained off and a suprise loss for top of the league in another shortened game we are now top by 1pt.

Rained off without a ball being bowled 2nd week in a row.

Annoyingly the oppo made us travel (25 miles each way) despite it raining all week and non-stop rain being forecast today from 1pm
