Champions League - Kent and middlesex

Kent have been excluded but middlesex's invite still stands. I think its pretty petty a team being chucked out because a couple of their players played in the ICL. What do you think?

It's the Kerry Paker thing all over again, with the countrie's saying where not going to p;ay if these player's play. I think it is tottaly stupid that they're not allowed to play as it's just the Indian's trying to show that they are taking a hard line against the ICL player's.

I think it's perfectly fine, after all it is the BCCI who has put up the $6m price fund. So therefore the BCCI has the right to chose who can and cannot play in the champion's league

With regard to the ECB trying to change a few of the rules, so that the ICL players can play in the Champions League, IMO it's nothing to do with the ECB as they haven't funded the Champions League

And the power of international cricket continues to move towards India.

And whats wrong with that? When the BCCI wasn't as wealthy nobody had a problem. Now that the BCCI is loaded everyone else seems jealous

No. it's just that the icc stands for international cricket council not indian cricket council.

i think the ECB should keep there noses out of it. Just take the decision and move on. England can't have it their way every time. They make make the rules to the game for crying out loud.

those players new the consequences when they signed up for an unsanctioned event and have cost their county potentially millions..Kent also new the dangers of playing them so mayb the ecb shld keep quiet when kent r obviously in the wrong

A bit harsh on Kent I think, the players signed up for the ICL and it would have been pretty hard for the club to stop them.

Why would it be hard for Kent to stop them? All Kent have to say is they are looking to qualify for the Champions League, therefore they won't sign ICL players or play ICL players in the Twenty20 cup

Well considering when they signed for the ICL the IPL didn't exist i think it is harsh. Also why shouldn't Kent pick theyre best side?
