So, I've been meaning to try a short blade bat for ages now, and always liked the shape of the Cor3, but kept buying other bats instead. After a helpful forum post from
@Tom , I picked this up on eBay for the princely sum of £51.
It's a Cor3 Prime which is supposedly grade 4... my (No Swearing Please), nice evenly spaced grains and no blemishes on the face whatsoever. Pretty pleased on looks! Not the biggest dimensions ever with about 33mm edges and 63mm spine at a little over 2.10, but the coverage is damn good, the middle is both long and wide. Worth mentioning that although the edges aren't big, the toe is 42mm! Wasn't super impressed with the response early on, felt a bit soft, but after oil and a little knocking in it's really coming to life nicely and is gonna be a real pinger I think. Pickup isn't light, obviously, but it is nicely balanced, I like it. Superb handle size and shape as all Mongooses seem to have, nice oval particularly on the bottom hand. Bonus knowledge - it's a TK, and the first one I've owned too. Looking forward to having a hit with it, don't know why I didn't buy a Cor3 earlier!
