i think thats a tad harsh, he was playing well before the thumb break before the uae tour, that was his chance and i think if hed have gone on that tour things would have been different.

Ansari was not international class in the role he was asked to play, but he had potential to be at least close.

On top of the career issue, I wonder if he was experiencing back issues again?

Of course he wasn't ready to be a Test spinner. That doesn't mean he was a mediocte cricketer.

We have no international-class spinners in this country. How are we addressing the problem? By introducing a new T20 competition, of course!
