Advice on small toe repair
« on: May 07, 2017, 11:14:28 AM »

Hi all

I have given a team mates bat to repair after yesterday's game. It's a small crack on And towards the toe. It doesn't go through the toe. I don't wanna get this wrong as he is trusting me to do it. I did suggest he sent it back to Where he purchased it from but he said he didn't wanna wait or the hassle.

My gut is to gue first bind it with tape then sand

Any advice would be greatfully received

I'm not expert but thats really not damage I would be worried about. Waterproof wood glue, sand, re oil. job done. get rid of that toe guard.

definitely no need for tape on that although I know a lot of people like to do it anyway.

If its not deep don't bother with glue  sand it out
Ask your team mate if he would like a scuff sheet.

Looks like it may be from just needing a little more Knocking in. I'd say give it some love with the mallet for a little while and they should close up. You may need a dab of glue just to seal them after this

thank you all for your help

yes that was my gut feeling also - not a great deal to it but just wanted to be sure

I would say it needs a bit more knocking in and I will advice about removing the toe guard

but a light glue and sanding should be enough for this repair

thanks again guys - il post pics when I have completed the work
