Factory Visit

For those that haven't been - I highly recommend a visit / tour.

I took a mate for a new bat and the whole experience was superb. 

The new showroom is fantastic, it is like visiting Olivander's - he was able to try different bats, shapes, weights etc, and narrowed it down to a choice of two or three, then Streaky discussed what he liked about them - before creating a bespoke bat incorporating everything.

I think a forum visit and net was mooted, but it is highly possible that this isn't happening as @The Doctor is allergic to nerds.

And who could blame him? :)

Wow DrB - you're brave!! I went to Choice cricket with this lot, and Gary's never been the same since!

Watch out for @uknsaunders  - he's just the right height to nick stuff from under the benches.

forgot to say...

Not sure what others do, but the road trip and visit was for a 50th birthday pressie, for big occasions we have a whip round and all chuck a tenner in, and because its bespoke service it removes the gamble on finding a bat that feels right.

Could be argued that at that age money should be spent on new glasses etc to see the ball, but our opening batter/groundsman/bar keeper/dogs body was mega chuffed.

Thats a cracking idea - only 13 more years to wait for my visit....
