Hi guys,

So I was sent photos of an SS Maximus last night from India that was made for a pro. Apparently, it pings like a train, and it does seem very good, he tells me that its very soft-pressed and the face is sort of curved. Slight duckbill-toe.

Can anyone make out the player's name on the toe?

Obviously, the weight is visible (1162 grams).

Feel more than free to access the GoogleDrive link below where the pics are available. Couldn't attach the photos here:

Its funny, a lot of the pro bats are usually Maximuses.

Seems pretty clearly SHYN(M), what that stands for is anyone's guess. Styen is about the closest I can come up with.

Yeah, I know! Starts with "Shy" I think...

I would consider it a just off the shelf bat and not a pro bat...

My coach is from SA and he has some contacts, he was able to get a Ton from a pro I can't name, a BAS from Amla & a B&S monster pinger that looks like a toothpick. After having seen the size/ping of those bats, how light they are and how they respond my opinion is any bat sold to general public, called pro or not, does not even come close to what is supplied to players...

Ton is a 50mm edge, mid-low middle, 70mm spine and no concaving, weighs 2-8 and no its not dry...you look at the bat and you think its gotta be over 3lbs then you pick it up!!!!  :o

Unless you have irrefutable proof that it's a pro bat (as opposed to some bloke who knows a bloke who has a contact who says it was) then I'd take any claim with a pinch of sawdust.
And I'm guessing that most pro-issued bats aren't wrapped in plastic.

1. I think I hate you for the fact that you have a real "Amla" bat. :D
2. The underlined statement nearly brought tears to my eyes.

It is from theonlinestockist, yes.

Probably Dale Steyn's or something...

So tell me, how's it yours @InternalTraining?

I have an actual Kohli bat and one of Tendulkar's bats from his kit-bag, and that too, unused... Only got the Tendulkar bat, recently. Both are guns.

Special-post soon!

Googled SHYN and CRICKET.

Came up with a contact in India. Perhaps it's him.
