M&H Charity bat
« on: June 01, 2017, 10:54:05 AM »

What are people's thoughts on this? I know M&H aren't everyones favourite here to put it delicately...

http://www.mandhstore.co.uk/prostate-cancer-uk-cricket-bat-p/mh-lepc-uk.htm

Personally I really like the idea (plus my uncle had prostate cancer last summer) and am talking with the parents about getting one. I remember GM doing a limited edition for Help for Heroes and there is the post below about the KP Rhino bats. I like the stickers on this whereas I am not keen on the Rhino stickers (too much going on for me).

Yeah. The GM was about £250 I think with £50 to H4H, whereas this is £50+VAT. Still steep though.

Well, whatever your views are on M&H's brand and claims, at least they donate 50 quid to the charity.
I suppose because it's a bat that's specifically produced for charity, it may incentivise people a bit more to dig a bit deeper than they would if you were raffling a 'normal' bat.
At the very least, you want to cover your costs. Ultimately, that may depend on how deep the guests' pockets are, and/or how inebriated they get!

To be honest this has changed my opinion on M and H a little - my dad and 2/3 of his brothers had prostate cancer and one sadly died from it, it affects 1 in 4 men and any money that goes towards the cause is brilliant also think the design is well thought out and I'm pleased to see something like this from a smaller brand like these guys.

A good cause and a good thing for them to do and personally I like the stickers.

Not sure about their £200 difference in pricing for same grade bats though.

maybe pricing it cheaper than normal for that grade to sell more and raise more cash for the charity

You can buy the stickers separately too if the bat is a bit out of range.

Based on the press release they will also have individual bat stickers and grips available at some point too.

Great they are supporting charity etc... but the pricing and the amount the relative amount they are donating...?

I'd rather just donate £50 quid personally direct and not buy that bat.
