Isn't it the gap on the grille? You can change the adjustment no? (The gloves have definitely come off haha)

the gap between the peak and grill can be adjusted but the plastic peak will still flex and widen the gap when hit like that due to the materials being used to make the shell..

The gloves arent off..its just a discussion which the forum is all about and enlightening people as to how/why some products work and some are far less effective

I think Thomas maybe referring to a poor grill selection position by the batsman in the mentioned photo.

the gap can be set to the 55mm BSI specified but the peak will then flex when hit and the ball will go through it still due to the fact the plastic used to make them is the same as whats used to make washing up bowls from

Ok point taken. It seemed a bit heated earlier on, but I guess it was just banter! Yeah you're right Tom, the grill position isn't very clever.. :|

James and i are used to verbal jousting mate dont worry!

As stated above the grill position isnt clever but the structural rigidity of the helmet still would more than likely not keep the ball out....get a plastic helmet and try bending the peak and you'll see what im getting at

tbh , there appears to be a flaw in the standard where the grill is allowed to be positioned in 3 different settings. Albion as a market leader for some years have seen top players like Ponting being injured more than once.

tom, out of interest do your helmets only allow the grill to be positioned in one setting..?
