As those of you that followed my other Uzi thread will know - my previous stick from them broke due to what we believe to be storm damage. Asad agreed to replace the bat no issues so I met him on a very early Friday morning 8:45 in Swindon from reading was a bit of a push! On arrival he had 7-8 bats out for me to choose from however none were quite right so he went to have a rummage and pulled out something I loved - not the best looking but it flew and had a lovely handle set slightly forward. While there Asad mentioned he was off to see The batmaker to pick up a few pretty special bats, this follows on nicely to the next part of the story, on Wednesday I messaged Asad to see if said special bats were still available, to which he informed me it was, so I again made the trip along the M4 this time on a Sunday morning to have a rummage. When I first saw one particular bat I was already impressed, 2.95, not completely convex but the tiniest amount of scalloping a huge spine and grains that ran straight through the face and onto the back, upset n tapping it up I knew that if I was going to buy a bat it would have been this one, after half an hour more of chatting all things cricket and commenting on South Africa's awful running between the wickets I decided to take the plunge and Asad stickered it up and even changed the grip for me which was lovely.
Specs on the replacement: 2.95, 37mm edge and a 58 mm spine and it flies.
Specs on the special bat: 2.10 37mm edge 72mm spine and no concaving - still needs a lot of knocking and playing in but it is a gun so far.
