Must admit, the more you watch it, the more guilty he looks...
Bit like deliberate handball on the goal-line. Keeper might save the pen and you've got away with it. He probably knew he was done for, but the umps might have given him the benefit of the doubt. Couldn't lose.

I am sorry but that is as deliberate as it gets. Worse bit is he was finally in some kind of form and England would have loved for him to hang around for a bit longer.
In any case, cannot feel any sympathy for him. Hope he is ashamed of his actions.
