Supposed Pro Bat - back from the dead

Now a brief bit of history on this one. It belongs to a teammate who works in financial services, and he used to be friendly with a few of the Hampshire boys.
This bat was supposedly sourced from Chris Tremlett while he was at Surrey. It has RHB written on the handle so may have been one of Rory Hamilton Brown's (equally it could be any old bat, as I have now way of verifying).
Anyway, it's been in my mate's possession for a few years and has had a lot of use! It arrived to me in this state:

First things first I decided to glue the (rather extensive) damage.
My theory was to get the bat into one piece again, then try sanding it down.
The middle had delaminated.
Both edges were cracked.
The toe has split.
After a few rounds of gluing, I had the bat back together and all the delimitation repaired.
I then gave it a quick rub down with white spirit to remove the remains of fibreglass tape.

Once it was nearly clean, I gave the whole bat a sand.
The delimitation to the middle of the bat was now solid, but there were a few areas that needed some attention.
I packed these with glue and used fibreglass tape as a clamp.

And finally, once repaired I was asked to apply some genuine Newbery stickers, so the bat matched the rest of his kit!
I'll admit this wasn't the best looking repair in the world, but considering the condition I received the bat in I'm rather pleased I managed to save it.
The owner is very attached to it, and has clearly used it a lot. Hopefully this will prolong it's life for a couple more seasons for him

Nice work mate, that one looked like it was on its last legs and now it has a few more runs in it.
