So The Doctor's explanation is nonsense?

It certainly isn't nonsense no. As was stated 4oz was removed from the bat which is a huge amount, the knot could be below the surface (unusual but possible) also could have been a tiny pin knot until that amount of wood was removed.
B3 are a really good brand so let's be reasonable there is no reason to think they deceived anyone etc, I would imagine a large % of our bats have knots, stains etc under the stickers

Appreciate this was a refurb, but wouldn't it have been picked up first time around? It's not like the knot appeared after the stickers were put on.

I find it hard to believe that knots can be covered up by wood growing over them. By all means, prove me wrong. I hope someone does.

A few are acting as though the stickers been moved to a different spot to hide a blemish in some sort of deceitful way. The knot would have always been there, when more wood was taken out some of the eye of the knot ( very brittle ) has come out and been tidied up with filler.

Exactly. FOUR ounces is a LOT of wood. Was a bit cheeky for the original poster to not mention that.

He even mentioned it was a 2 stripe. Haven't seen refurbs carry the stripe sticker.

Seems all legit and the Doctor has been open about it. I just hope you all jump to the defence of other brands when this occurs...

I find the mental side of it interesting that a bat can be very good but if you find a blemish under a sticker on the back of it, it suddenly becomes no good.

I don't think anyone said that.

100% agree with this, probably many bats would have had similar things being covered by stickers and unless is the case here you remove them all and refurb, many would be none the wiser,

I do agree however it does not look good. Is the age all thing that many still will go for looks over performance

He even mentioned it was a 2 stripe. Haven't seen refurbs carry the stripe sticker.

It was a 2 stripe big edge warner purchased 8 months ago that I wanted a weight reduction on to which I was advised for it be changed to a small edge warner.
If you read back through the posts I have already said I have no issue with performance or it suddenly becoming a 'bad bat'.
I simply asked if it was normal.

B3 Refurbs will always have the original grade put back on them.

I don't think anyone said that.
i just skimmed back quickly and at least 3 people said they wouldn't tolerate a blemish like this, that CEAT I believe was returned because of blemish as well.
